The man behind Rockentry is Oswaldo Zuniga. His channel is filled with educational climbing videos that include beta breakdowns, technique comparisons, and how-to tutorials for unlocking a specific technique. I personally like his style of climbing which is very flowy and precise.

He also collaborates with other YouTube climbers and professional climbers.

2. HoseokClimb

Channel: link

Hoseok Lee is a South Korean climber that is incredibly strong and documents his bouldering videos and training progression. But did you know that he began climbing only in 2015, and only 1 year to reach V8 routes? With his performance, I secretly wished he would compete in the IFSC.

Over the years he covers some of the climbers’ most common problems, like how to avoid a plateau and the impact of weight in climbing. He also has some fun videos of him challenging other professional climbers and climbing vlogs of him in local competitions.

Hoseok’s climbing videos are impressive to say the least, and if you are looking for an inspiring climber who can motivate you to climb harder and better, HoseokClimb is that channel.

3. TAMY Climbing Channel

Channel: link

TAMY is a combination of the initials of 4 professional (and retired) Japanese climbers: Tomoa Narasaki, Akiyo Noguchi, Meichi Narasaki, and Yudai Ikeda.

It is a fun climbing Youtube channel that showcases some of the climbers’ competition vlogs, interviews with famous Japanese climbers as well as a thorough explanation of certain climbing techniques such as heel hooks. Although all their videos are in Japanese, they include English subtitles in their videos to cater to their international fans.

I enjoy watching their light-hearted videos and they are a fun climbing group to watch as a whole with their friendly banter. I actually learned how to POGO (moon kick) by replaying Tomoa Narasaki’s tutorial! They also have friendly competitions amongst themselves as opposed to the serious atmosphere we see in IFSC climbing.

4. Albert Ok

Channel : link

If you have watched a “Beta Break” video, congrats, you have found Albert Ok’s channel! The Beta Break series is Albert Ok’s most popular video uploads, where he explains some of the “beta breaks” (unconventional moves) that competitive climbers do to complete a problem.

The video covers how the climber does it differently from the rest, and eventually becomes the climber’s signature move or a technique that others will follow suit. A fine example is the Tomoa Skip, a step-up move in speed climbing to reduce time, created by Tomoa Narasaki.

Albert Ok is known for his analytical explanation, so much so that IFSC invites him to commentate or give opinions about certain climbers’ performance. Tune in to his series if you will like to understand the mechanics behind climbing!

5. Mani The Monkey

Channel: link

Mani The Monkey, as quirky as his name sounds, is an Austrian climber who is super fun to watch.

His videos give the vibe of “your friendly neighborhood climber”, you will feel like you are connecting with him as a peer rather than a Youtube influencer, which is perhaps why he’s one of the most popular climbers Youtubers around. Mani records some of his hardest outdoor lead climbs (usually 8b), breaks down the right way to use your gear equipment, and shows how you can replicate his training workout.

If you want to watch something that is both entertaining and relaxing, check out some of Mani’s content!

The channel also covers some of climbing’s most common techniques like a drop knee and finding your flow on the bouldering wall. It is a bouldering-specific channel that provides instructional climbing videos, led by Siawn’s soothing voice.

7. Magnus Midtbø

climbing youtube

Channel: link

Ask any climber about Magnus and they will instantly know what you are talking about. Magnus is fondly known for his shirtless climbing and it is a running joke among my climber friends that your climbing skills will become better if you have your shirt off!

Magnus is a famous Norwegian sport climber who became a full-time Youtube content creator after his retirement from competition in 2017. Since then, he experiments with a variety of activities to measure his fitness level, such as Ninja Warrior, free solo, military training, and gymnastics.

You need to watch Magnus Midtbø not because every climber watches his videos, but because he dedicates a lot of effort to his videos to bring climbing mainstream.

8. Adam Ondra

Channel: link

Adam Ondra is a big name in the climbing world. He bolted and climbed the hardest climbing route in the world, “Silence” (9c), wins gold medals in World Cups, and has…an infamous scream.

One thing that sets him apart from the rest of the climbers is his dedicated video production team. His latest videos often involved him onsighting or climbing some of the hardest grades in the world, with multiple stabilized camera angles for viewers to see the full experience.

However, I am a bigger fan of his earlier series (Adam Ondra #, and his vlogs) where he shares his insights about conditioning, climbing equipment, and his thought process throughout climbing. He was more transparent about his passion for climbing and even injects humor when he meets his alter-ego, Ondra.

If you are curious about the world’s hardest routes and love seeing him on screen, his channel is worth a subscription.

If there is a CNN real-time version for the climbing world, it’s Epic TV Climbing Daily.

This climbing Youtube channel is a branch out of EpicTV, a popular climbing video platform. You will get daily videos on the latest news happening in the climbing scene, stories about world records, gear reviews, and potential stars in the making.

EpicTV has some great commentary, which is of no surprise as it is led by IFSC’s main sports commentator, Matt Groom. If you are not familiar with climbers, especially in the outdoor scene, you will come out an expert with this channel’s up-to-date news! Trust me, you will look like a sports expert among your climbing peers.

12. Hard Is Easy

Channel: link

In a high-risk sport like climbing, safety is essential. This is what Ben does in his channel, making hard things like handling safety equipment, easy to remember.

Ben, who is from Jamaica, takes the time to make well-explained videos that can go up to 20 minutes long. From explaining every different belay device (and testing it out), to different ropes and different falling techniques, he goes down to the nitty-gritty of climbing safety. I enjoy his no-nonsense perspective and putting his life on the line with the notorious “tunnel-up” belay method!

Want to know how to fall on lead? Or unsure what GriGri to purchase? Hard Is Easy will be your guide!

14. Bouldering DabRats

If you are starting to notice that most of these climbing accounts are leaning towards a certain gender, Bouldering DabRats is that channel that balances it out.

Bouldering DabRats are all about promoting more women climbers in the scene. That means you will see your favorite female climbers (like Shauna Coxsey) appearing in their videos! The channel is fun-filled with climbing vlogs as they do fun challenges that test their strength. You will feel less intimidated watching their videos because they also post beginner videos and getting their friends to join in the fun.

Update: Annie and Di of Bouldering DabRats are no longer producing videos for the time being as they have moved on to different ventures. However, their videos are still as relevant.

An entertainment-filled content, their educational videos come with catchy titles like “The SECRET Story of Alex Honnold’s near-death fall” (because who wouldn’t be curious about the near-death experience of this world-famous free solo climber?) packed with dramatic and solid content.

They have also featured some of the biggest names on the channel such as Janja Garnbret, Alex Honnold, and Tommy Caldwell.

  1. You forgot a hugely important channel in my opinion : Hooper’s beta.
    https://www.youtube.com/@HoopersBeta

It’s one of the few channels that will go further than the basic technics explanation. It’s the channel of a climber that also is a physical therapist and so he’ll often provide an overview of studies to help understand if common beliefs are most likely true or false (like : “is it really useful to tape your fingers to prevent injuries ?”).

He’ll also do analysis of climbing videos and really go further than the usual channels. He’ll talk about efficiency in moves, bio dynamic, small adjustments etc. It really is the thing you need if you want something educational that goes beyond the beginner/intermediate level found in other channels.

  2. great recommendation Cedric! As someone who does get injuries, I found the channel useful too!
