The Crag has over 9,000 square feet of roped climbing along with 3,500 square feet of bouldering with a top-out boulder. There are 12 auto-belay lines, with a fitness and yoga space with a weightlifting training area. I tried to find out how tall are the walls in The Crag Nashville and they came close to 18 feet.

You can tell that The Crag is all about holistic strength conditioning but one thing is for sure, this place feels like a welcoming spacious playground for climbers of all ages and skill sets. The Climb gyms currently have 4 outlets: Nashville West, Nashville East, Murfreesboro, Bentonville.

The Climb is Nashville’s premium climbing and fitness facility with Nashville West as its first outlet. It began in 2003 at Sylvan Park before relocation to its current location at 3600 Charlotte Avenue.

Climb Nashville East is the 2nd outlet of the Climb gyms with over 4,000 square feet of bouldering and top-roping along with a fitness space for training and yoga. Opened in 2013, this outlet is more bouldering-focused where intermediate climbers can train their skills on some of their frequently resetted creative routes.

Climb Murfreesboro is slightly outside of Nashville but it is worth a visit. Situated at the old Hastings bookstore near Northfield, this climbing gym in Parkside Shopping Center has a 30,500 square feet space, making it the largest climbing gym in the whole of Tennessee!

You can auto-belay, lead, and top-rope on their 45-feet walls and also boulder at their dedicated space. Also, not forgetting their yoga facilities, of course.This place is family-friendly, with a dedicated kids playground area with brightly-colored auto-belay walls.

UPDATE: The Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center’s membership is currently allocated for Vanderbilt’s students, staff, employees and alumni.

You can gain access to the center’s introduction to bouldering course, instructors, and climbing equipment for free!
